Campus Re-Entry Need-to-Know
Understandably there is a lot of information on the University of Arizona websites communicating the campus re-entry process. The list below is an attempt to synthesize the information into a quick guide. Please utilize the links for more detailed information. The full CALS Fall 2020 Re-entry plan can be found at
https://compass.arizona.edu/.
As stated by CALS Dean Shane Burgess in his June 5th memo to students “I have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind, at any time and in any place. We will have 100% fairness, equity, and inclusion.” This is especially important during the campus re-entry process as graduate students with split FTE likely have multiple supervisors. Please directly reach out to Kirsten Limesand (
limesank@arizona.edu) if you feel that you are being forced to return to campus.

UArizona Course Formats
The University of Arizona will offer four types of classes: In-Person, Flex In-Person, Live Online, iCourse. The Fall 2020 class schedule reflects the class format as selected by each academic unit and faculty member. You can identify which format your courses feature by reviewing your schedule in UAccess Student. All courses will provide options for students who are unable to come to campus due to illness or other temporary circumstances. Watch

Course delivery
Faculty and graduate student TAs whose responsibilities include teaching in Fall 2020 will work with their respective academic unit heads to
- Select a course delivery modality (July) that accommodates any underlying health conditions that put the employee at higher risk of disease
- Match course sections in the two in-person delivery modalities with campus classrooms, so as to accommodate both course enrollments and restricted classroom capacity limits while maintaining appropriate social distancing
- Set protocols for interactions with student outside of the classroom (e.g., office hours; review sessions; discussion groups) that rely on use of virtual technologies in order to minimize physical exposure
