We’re sure everyone enjoyed ICMBE 2014 in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ!  We were pleased to have over 50 attendees fill out our RHEED survey – thank you!  We had two survey winners (picked randomly) -  congratulations to Steffen Schreyeck of The University of Wuerzburg, and Sai Krishna Ojha of North Carolina A&T State University on winning iPad Minis for their participation in our RHEED Survey.

The survey results were very interesting.  We learned that about 60% of those surveyed record full kSA 400 movies when they acquire data – that’s a lot of data storage!  We also learned that about 1/3 of those surveyed use the built in lattice spacing/strain capability – that’s more than we thought would use this advanced capability.  Most of those surveyed said they would be interested in a RHEED simulation capability, whereby they could simulate RHEED patterns under different conditions, surfaces, and orientations.  Hopefully we’ll surprise you in the near future with just such a capability!  Finally, many RHEED users are not happy with their current camera resolution and dynamic range (not necessarily using our kSA 400).  Please note that we currently offer 3 camera options for the kSA 400, including a fast camera option (up to 110 frames/sec) and a high resolution option (2750 x 2200 pixels).  Please see our kSA 400 product specs for further details and do not hesitate to ask us about software or camera upgrades for your exiting kSA 400 system. 

Have you ever wanted to be able to look at the sample inside your chamber but you don’t have any available viewports?  k-Space is now offering an optional integrated camera for our popular kSA BandiT system.  The camera allows you to view inside your chamber without having to move your BandiT, and can be used simultaneously with acquiring your BandiT substrate temperature.  Or use the camera to see your sample transfer and keep an eye on your wafer during heating or rotation.

The optional camera can easily be added to existing BandiT detectors; just remove your mounting ring and screw on the camera cube instead.  More details are available in our updated BandiT product specs.
