Pre-Law Advising is now located in Kaprielian Hall 357! All advising appointments and walk-ins will be seen in KAP 357.
Law School Document Review Service Changes
We are excited to announce a new system for reviewing law school application documents! To have your personal statement, resume or addendum reviewed please use the link on our website: 
http://dornsife.usc.edu/docreview/
We will no longer be accepting documents via email.
Walk-In Hours
Pre-Law Advisors are available for walk-ins at the following times until October 8th
  • Mondays: 1:00pm to 4:00pm 
  • Tuesdays: 9:00am to 1:00pm
  • Wednesdays: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Thursdays: 9:00am to 1:00pm
USC Law students' walk-in hours for the fall semester are as follows:
  • Mondays: 9:00am to 12:30pm 
  • Tuesdays: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Thursdays: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Appointments:  Available Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm.  Please call the KAP Front Desk (213.740.2534) to schedule an appointment with an advisor or email prelaw@usc.edu to meet with a current USC Law student. 
* Please note personal statements are not reviewed during appointments.  For personal statment review, please use the link above. It will take a minimum of 72 hours from the confirmation you receive from your reviewer for feedback on your personal statement.

Michigan State University College of Law Webinars

Michigan State University College of Law will be hosting a variety of webinars this fall for  students who are exploring or planning for law school. There is no cost to participate and webinar attendees will have the opportunity to interact with presenters during the 15-minute Q and A segment. Webinar presenters are highly experienced content-area experts (including the former director of Harvard Law School admissions and the former dean of admissions at the University of Virginia Law School).  The schedule of webniar topics are as followed: 

UCLA School of Law Law Fellows Program
The Law Fellows Program is currently accpeting applications for the 2015-2016 cycle. The deadline for this program is October 16, 2015. The program focuses on participants’ academic development, with the objective of increasing their academic competitiveness for admission to law school. Our initiative is committed to ensuring equity, access, and excellence in legal education both in California and nationally.
Law Fellows attend a series of monthly Saturday Academies held at UCLA School of Law in the winter and spring, where they are provided with mentoring, academic enrichment, and career development activities designed to de-mystify law school and the legal profession, and to present these objectives as viable options. The program prepares participants to successfully enter and succeed in top law programs and legal careers by affording Fellows access to a variety of events, programs and services, including:
  • Professional-Level Instruction by Law School Faculty
  • Personalized Juris Doctor (Law School) Action Plan
  • Mentoring by Current UCLA Law Students
  • Full Scholarship for one LSAT Preparation Course
  • Presentations by Practicing Attorneys and Leaders in the Law Community

Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law - Fall 2015 Communications Internship
The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law (Center), a dynamic community based non-profit legal services program serving some of the poorest individuals in Los Angeles County, seeks a bright, motivated, energetic and committed Communications intern for Fall 2015.
This internship will familiarize the intern with all aspects of the agency’s operations, and provide the opportunity to work in a supportive learning environment alongside dedicated professionals. Under supervision, the intern will be exposed to a wide range of the non-profit activities including electronic and media communications.
Goals:
  • Enhance the skills and knowledge of the intern in communications strategy and operations;
  • Enhance the skills and knowledge of the intern in non-profit management and administration.
  • Accomplish concrete objectives to strengthen and expand the Harriett Buhai Center;
  • Build the intern’s resume and portfolio.
The intern will focus on the following projects:
  • Assist the Center to strengthen its social voice via online media, including Facebook,YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.;
  • Create/organize original content to post/publish;
  • Explore alternative ways to find, engage, and expand supporters via social media;
  • Track media coverage to find stories that link to the Center’s work; Research media contacts and initiate relationships with the press; Assist with publicity for events.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in internet technologies including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities;
  • Passion for social justice and provision of service to the poor;
  • Be able to work independently and take initiative;
  • Have a demonstrated ability to think creatively, plan effectively and adeptly manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Work collegially and respectfully with a wide variety of persons and respond flexibly to changing circumstances and limited resources typically found in a non- profit environment.
  • Previous communications experience preferred.
Compensation: This is an unpaid credit based position approximately 10-15 hours per academic week.
