Thank You & Happy Retirement to Marven Hudson
Marven started his career in the summer of '78 working with a manual crew cutting wood. Over the next 15 years, he spent time in various roles, from training other saw operators to operating harvesters.
|
|
|
He attended the Maritime Forest Ranger School in 1993 and worked term positions with DNR and other industry mills until 1996. From there, he joined the mill and worked in various roles, from planning and harvesting supervisor to operations superintendent. In 2012, when the mill restarted as Port Hawkesbury Paper, Marven assisted in the role and became the Woodlands Manager, where he has been since his retirement this year.
Marven plans to spend more time with family and friends, play a larger role in family businesses and start a small forestry consulting business to assist landowners with their forest properties while enjoying the great outdoors.
“Will always be found in the woods.”
Thank you, Marven!

| Species at Risk Management Fact Sheets from the Woodlands Unit
Port Hawkesbury Paper is dedicated to ensuring that the practices performed by the company adhere to the principles of sustainable forest management. Our goal is to provide long-term sustainability and natural biodiversity for many ecological, social and cultural values while providing a stable and long-term economic viability for Port Hawkesbury Paper, local wood suppliers and sawmills.
With this in mind, the Woodland's unit has generated a series of fact sheets providing information about the species within the region and the steps to protect their habitat.
