1. If I have learned anything since March, I have learned the importance of grace. Grace is more than offering a little latitude. Grace is thoughtful. It takes into account someone else’s journey, someone else’s childhood and growing pains. Grace takes into account someone else’s inexperiences and experiences. Grace takes into account someone else’s life. The wholeness of their life. Not just a small slice of life, a moment in time, or one isolated conversation. Grace looks past someone’s bad day. Grace looks at someone the way Jesus looks at you. Someone that is in need of the very thing that Jesus offered over and over again, grace. Lean into grace with each other, with strangers, with your family and friends.
2. March also brought about the birth of something of which none of us ever dreamed, those Deermeadows Daily videos. Now with more than 125 episodes, our pastors and our lay leaders have shared how God has impacted their lives in the middle of the craziest year in recent memory. I’ve had the pleasure of editing all of the episodes, and I wanted to say thank you to all that have participated. If you would like to share your story, please let us know.
3. Enough about March, let’s look to the future! One of the reasons I accepted the call as your student pastor almost 4 years ago was because of the potential I saw in the Deermeadows church family. I continue to see how you love God, love each other and love our community. Our future is bright, Deermeadows, and I’m thankful to be on this journey with you. You are all loved and prayed over on a daily basis.
