It's Week 5 here on campus, and students are looking forward to Midterm Break. After all, they have been working — and networking! — hard over the past month. More than 220 current Carls and 40 alumni recently gathered on campus for the Carleton Career Summit to participate in industry panels, skill-building workshops, and more.
Demonstrating these very career skills and professional talents, several alumni have noteworthy work to acknowledge. Writers Kao Kalia Yang ’03 and Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl ’92 each penned reflections on living through fear and grief in a 'Letter from Minnesota' and 'A Letter from a Minneapolis Mom' respectively. Jonathan Capehart ’89 offered reflections on the Minnesota he knows, too. Recent grads Ruby Becker ’25 and Helen Banta ’25 wasted no time publishing their own work in EXARC Journal. And finally, to Johnny Osborne ’12 we say cheers on the nomination for Best New Brewery by USA Today.

College leaders are providing direct support to individual members of our community, and are sharing regular updates with all students, faculty, and staff about protocols and resources, should any members of our community be impacted by the increased immigration enforcement activity taking place in Minnesota. You can read President Byerly's weekly column for our internal newsletter, Carleton Today, on the President's Office website.
