- I'd like to shout-out Khavon Watson, student intervention liaison, at G.H. Reid Elementary School. She is so thoughtful and caring. She recently found an organization to supply many of our sweet students with winter coats. We appreciate your kindness, Ms. Watson!
- I would like to send an enormous shout-out and thank you to the inaugural Richmond Technical Center SOL testing team – Ms. Walker, Mr. Guzik, Ms. Thompson, Ms. Jones, Ms. Koslovic, Ms. Davis, and Dr. Foster - for helping RTC pull off our first ever week of SOL testing. Thank you also to Mr. Mitchum, Ms. Smith, and Ms. Taylor for all your support and assistance with this endeavor. Ms. Rochelle Wilkins, thank you for your guidance and patience with my many, many questions. Finally, to all of our students who participated, you are amazing!
- Shout-out to Ms. Stevens, the new ICC at Binford! She brings a wealth of knowledge with her to the position and has fantastic ideas for supporting our students with disabilities and exceptional education teachers. I can't wait to see what incredible things she will do!
- It was a pleasure to see the RPS team again yesterday at Carver. It was a nice occasion for all involved, and I would like to submit a shout-out of appreciation.
- Shout-out to Principal Jones at Ginter Park Elementary School for coming to the aid of my inconsolable 5th grader who was having a hard morning that made him late for school. Her concern, kindness and compassion calmed him down and he had a great day. Thank you, Principal Jones! You rock!
- I want to give a shout-out to Ms. Robinson and all the teachers who stayed late and helped out at the Fitness Night tonight at J.B. Cary!
- I would like to shout-out Angela Dews, Avid teacher at Armstrong. My son can be a bit shy! Ms. Dews has helped to bring my son out of his shell. He loves Ms. Dews's class and gets so excited when he talks about his day. I can always count on Ms. Dews to brighten my day as well when she updates me on my son. Thank you, Ms. Dews, for being that awesome, caring teacher our kids need.
- Shout-out to Ms. Tameka DePriest, CIS site coordinator, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. Ms. DePriest goes above and beyond the call of duty to advocate for the children and families in the East End. She is the backbone of MLK.'s support staff and is a consummate team player!!!! Ms. DePriest is committed to excellence, and provides much needed services and resources to our students and families in their greatest time of need. She is a powerful role model, and sets the bar high in the building. Thanks, Ms. DePriest, for all that you do!!!!
- I would like to give a shout-out to Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Mosby at Maymont Preschool for always going above and beyond to keep parents updated on their students' progress. My son comes home every day excited to tell me about his school day and I can see he has learned a lot in just a few months. Thanks, ladies, for all your hard work in helping to mold our kids!
- Jasmine Terry, school social worker at Holton, saw a need. She coordinated and helped facilitate a bullying prevention program for the entire 5th grade class and brought in the amazing Chuck Johnson to lead this event! The 5th grade students learned a lot and are still talking about it! Thank you, Ms.Terry, for all you do to keep students safe and engaged!
- Shout-out to Ashley White, school social worker at Henry Marsh! She is unstoppable when it comes to improving attendance. She makes so many positive connections with parents and students, coordinates incentive programs, and is a vital parent of the attendance team at Henry Marsh! Thank you for all your hard work!
- Shout-out to our preschool librarian, Tiana Addai-Mensa, who is teaching the Tiny Titans at MLK Preschool to both love and respect books with the book she authored "A Book Is Like a Baby." She is a big advocate for our little ones because preschool is real school.
- I would like to shout-out AP Anderson at Linwood Holton for leading with joy, organization, poise and compassion. Grateful to have her here at Holton!
