Prepare for Commencement 2025 |
|
|
Dear Student,
Thank you for verifying your diploma name earlier this month. We previously notified you of the March 16 deadline to verify your diploma name in SIS; however, if you missed that deadline you can still make updates until March 31. If you need to change your diploma name after March 31, we are not able to guarantee the change will appear in the commencement book. Diploma names can be updated up until the last day of classes this spring.
It’s now time to let us know where you plan to align for the all-University celebration and which department ceremony(s) you plan to attend.
These choices are made through the My Commencement page in SIS. It will open for responses on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 and needs to be completed no later than Thursday, April 24, 2025. Additional details regarding the process are available online.
To access the My Commencement page in SIS, log into SIS and select on "My Graduation Status."
You will be asked to provide the following:
|
-
Alignment Area: TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS! To ensure that you can sit with your friends at the all-University celebration on May 18, 2025 you need to tell us where you want to assemble before entering the academic quad. Your friends will need to select the same location. There is a finite number of spaces per area so make sure you plan ahead.
-
Number of Guests: To provide a comfortable day for all, please estimate the number of family and guests who will attend the ceremonies. Tickets will be required for guests to attend commencement ceremonies (as well as the baccalaureate ceremony), however there is no ticket limit and the tickets will be free of charge. Details regarding tickets will be made available in a few weeks.
-
Commencement Venue: Students graduating with more than one major or program will need to tell us which ceremony they wish to attend. If you have more than one major or program, you may indicate you plan to attend both ceremonies but only if they are not at the same time. Students who do not provide us with this information will be assigned to the event related to their primary major or program. Please note that undergraduate students who are receiving a degree in the School of Engineering will commence at the ceremony on the Green (academic quad) at 11:30 a.m.
- Record you name: Once you select which ceremony you will attend, copy and paste the link under Event Notes to record your name as you wish it to be announced at the ceremony. If you plan to attend more than one department ceremony, make sure to record your name for both events. Please make sure to record your name before senior week begins.
