VOLUNTEEER OPPORTUNITIES
The global pandemic changed how we interact with one another and how we approach volunteer opportunities. Many organizations have pivoted away from in-person volunteering, but that does not make the virtual opportunities any less valuable to your development as a prehealth student!
Take a look at our list of over 100+ volunteer opportunities in the area. We will be updating this list throughout the semester, so be sure to check back often!
Below is an organization that has openings and can help you develop several competencies!
REMOTE OPPORTUNITY AT TUFTS MEDICAL CENTER

If you are looking for a remote and low commitment community service opportunity, Tufts Medical Center is spearheading a novel program where volunteers make calls to patient homes on behalf of the hospital.

Training and scripts will be provided, and hours are incredibly flexible due to the remote nature of the program. You will also be provided with an exclusive Tufts Medical Center email address.

Spots are filling up fast! But they are still recruiting! EVERYONE is welcome to join, and those who can speak another language are in extraordinarily high demand.

If you or anyone you know is interested, please reach out to Arno Min via email.

This is a rare opportunity to join a completely new program. Executive leaders at TMC are incredibly excited by the work we have already done, and expansion is inevitable. As members of the Tufts community, we would love for you to be part of this and make a difference for those on the front lines.

GROWTH YEAR OPPORTUNITIES
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA
Full-time Position, 2-year commitment
The Medical Career Design Fellowship promotes clinical research by giving extraordinary pre-medical students the opportunity to investigate pertinent topics in clinical orthopaedic research at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This fellowship will allow recent college graduates the opportunity to explore many aspects of a medical career research, clinical practice, education, advocacy, and leadership. Each MCD Fellow spends 2 years as an essential member of our research and clinical teams, mentored by our thought-leading faculty from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The fellowship focuses on giving the pre-medical student clinical research opportunities, advanced orthopaedic skills through clinical exposure, and mentoring for medical school applications and beyond.

Cohen Children's Medical Center
Various Pediatric Subspecialty Departments
New Hyde Park, NY
12-24 month commitment
CCMC’s Gap Year internship program originated in 2014, and has grown steadily over the years based on the extraordinary feedback from past interns and the equally positive experience that clinical faculty have experienced while working with such bright, highly talented and motivated students.  Clinical research internship positions are now available in 4 different pediatric divisions – General Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Medical Genetics and Human Genomics, and Nephrology – providing recent college graduates with an extraordinary opportunity to collaborate on clinical research and other academic endeavors.

Students who are interested in collaborating on one or more clinical research projects – with opportunities for co-authorship on abstracts and papers – may apply for an internship position in any or all of these 4 sub-specialty areas.

Please note that the application deadline for all of the internships is Monday, March 1st
Students are strongly encouraged to apply early.  Students will be notified of their application status within 4 weeks of the application deadline.
Best,
Amanda, Ericka and Susana
