12th Annual Tufts Women's Center Gender and Culture Symposium
For the 12th Women's Center Symposium, our theme is "growing and glowing" and what that means to you. This year's week-long symposium, which is April 10 through April 14, will be focused on growing, healing, our identities, and glowing as we are.

Beyond Tufts: Working Abroad – Finding Internship Programs or Post-Grad Work
Have you ever thought about pursuing an internship or post-graduate opportunity outside the U.S.? On Wednesday, April 12, at 12 noon–1 p.m., learn about where to start identifying programs and potential employers outside the U.S and find ways to land a work experience in another country, begin your job search abroad, or find an internship, fellowship, or volunteer opportunity. This virtual event is offered in collaboration with Tufts Global Education and the Tufts Career Center.

DONUT Hesitate to Ask: A Conversation on Mental Health
Do you have questions about mental health? DONUT be afraid to ask them! The Tufts Mental Health Reps are hosting a panel with Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS) clinicians to answer and discuss your questions about mental health (anonymously). This will be a casual Q&A event with free donuts and coffee, taking place on Wednesday, April 12, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Cummings Center Room 270.

Join us for a lecture with Craig Wilder (MIT) on Wednesday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m. in Barnum Hall Room 104. This is the inaugural event for the Slavery, Colonialism, and Their Legacies at Tufts project.

Mice Against Ticks: Fighting Lyme Disease With Engineered Mice
Mice Against Ticks is an open, community-guided, MIT-based project working to reduce tick-borne disease on islands like Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. This project would immunize the local mouse population and break the transmission cycle between mice and ticks. On Thursday, April 13, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in the Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room or on Zoom, learn more about the underlying technology to fighting tick-borne disease with the help of island communities. Free pizza will be served!

Tufts in Oxford Information Session for First-year Students Planning to Study Abroad in 2024–2025
Join Tufts Global Education in our Tufts in Oxford information session on Thursday, April 13, at 5–6 p.m. in Dowling Hall Room 745A. This information session is intended for first-year students interested in applying to attend Tufts in Oxford during their junior year (academic year 2024–2025). This session will cover academics at Pembroke College and the application process for Tufts in Oxford. Snacks will be provided. Please remember to RSVP.

On Thursday, April 13, at 5–9 p.m. in Barnum Hall Room 08, watch a magnificent epic of experimental cinema offering a feminist perspective on recurrent events of everyday life. This film was recently named "Greatest Film of All Time" in the 2022 Sight and Sound Poll. Experimental Film Instructor Kyle J. Petty will lead the post-screening discussion. Total running time: 3 hours and 30 minutes

First-Years and Sophomores, Give Us Your Feedback in the Annual Experience Survey
First-years and sophomores, check your email for a link to the annual experience survey from the Office of Institutional Research. A reminder was emailed to you last Thursday at 12 noon. Completing the survey means you will be entered in a raffle for $50 JumboCash or Rhino Bucks! Results from previous years have led to many important changes that have improved the undergraduate student experience at Tufts. Take the survey and make your voice heard today.

Admissions Jumbo Day on Friday, April 14
Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting a large-scale admitted student event on Friday, April 14. Get excited to see admitted students and their families exploring the Medford/Somerville campus! The dining centers will be very busy at 11:45 a.m.–1:30 p.m., so we encourage you to dine outside those hours. If you see any admitted students across campus who need directions, don't hesitate to lend a helping hand!

TECA Student Project Grant Applications Due April 15
Tufts Elephant Conservation Alliance (TECA) offers competitive grants for student research, communication, or service projects that contribute to conservation and/or protection of African or Asian elephants. Research projects are to be conducted during summer 2023. This grant is open to all graduate, undergraduate, or professional students from any Tufts campus. Student projects must be sponsored by faculty mentor(s). Students with ideas for projects but no mentor can contact capp@tufts.edu with a brief description of their idea.

'Bos To Bikers: Learn To Bike
In collaboration with Tufts Bikes, Tufts Mountain Club, and The Green Fund, 'Bos To Bikers aims to bridge the gap between those who know how to bike and those who have not yet had the chance to learn. Whether it be due to financial or environmental barriers or general lack of opportunity, we help anyone (including SMFA students) in the community learn how to ride a bike! Bikes, helmets, and safety gear are provided.

Academic Reminders
Registration for fall 2023 courses begins soon. Be sure to book a meeting with your advisor as soon as possible! You must meet with your advisor prior to registration to discuss courses and have your advising hold released. To prepare for registration, you should also:
- View your registration time in SIS and confirm you have no other holds
- Add courses and backup options to your shopping cart
- Validate to confirm you meet course requirements
