This first season will be a 90s Mix Tape theme that will cover lots of tastes and skill levels and will culminate in a performance at the end of the session .  If you are not quite ready for the stage, we also offer Adult Rock 101 where you learn songs and play with others of similar skill with no performance pressure.  If you have any questions whatsover contact Rose on the School line 301-589-7625 or on silverspring@schoolofrock.com.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW TEACHERS

We recently added not one but TWO new awesome instructors to our amazing teaching staff. Chase Albrecht teaches keys, guitar and drums with us and Max Gilder is an excellent new drum instructor. Both Max and Chase are excited to help students grow into well rounded musicians with a passion for playing with others. Call or email the school to set up a lesson with one of these amazing new instructors!
Inclement Weather

Chances are we will have some more of the fluffy white stuff this season.  If you take your lesson in person or have a group that rehearses in person, please take note of how we will handle things.
On the day in question, we will determine if our staff can come in and return home safely, particularly for groups.  Often the timing of the storm allows us to continue our in person operations but other times we will need to pivot to online teaching.  If you feel the roads are not safe and we are open, you may opt to take your in person lesson online for that day even if we are operating in person, just let us know.  We will post up on our FB  page if there's a closure and send an email if there are any changes to the in person groups on that day by 1PM.  If you have a question shoot us an email, check our programs site, social media, or give us a call before you head out.

THOUGHTS FROM THE MOTHERSHIP
with Our Music Director -  Brooks
TUNING - An essential but often overlooked part of playing an instrument is tuning it. Making sure your instrument is in tune is one of the first steps when playing in any context, but especially in a rehearsal or performance. Playing in tune is an absolute must for guitarists and bassists, so make sure you practice ear training to know when you're out of tune. Younger or less experienced musicians should also spend time with their instructor learning how to tune quickly so they don't take up too much rehearsal time. Drummers also need to know how to tune their instrument and how to get a good tone out of the drums, so make sure to talk to your instructor about tuning drums this week!

Summer 2022 Intern Program Info Coming Soon
