FOR 'BE THE CHANGE'
'Be the Change' will bring Virginia teachers and high school students together for a special youth summit hosted November 11-14 at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. Successful applicants will receive a $1,000 grant and work in teams to explore lessons of the American Revolution, focusing on leadership and civic responsibility to design a service-learning project for implementation in their communities over the coming year. FOR VIRGINIA TEACHERS
In partnership with the Virginia Council for the Social Studies, Jamestown Settlement is happy to welcome Virginia social studies teachers for a private guided tour on August 7 as part of the VCSS Summer Field Trips series. Educators will explore the museum and see what's new as we get ready to welcome schools back for fun and engaging field trips designed to inspire students to think about the legacy of history. This 2021/2022 school year, Title I schools from across the nation can take advantage of a number of free, donor-funded virtual education programs designed to deliver inquiry-based, interactive programming from the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. Limited funding is available and teachers are encouraged to secure their session now.
