Semester (or Quarter) Scholar-in-Residency Grants in France
The Foundation offers grants combining (a) a stipend of $30,000 for research in France for a semester (or quarter) during academic year 2020-21, plus (b) accomodations in the Château—with all furnishings provided and utilities paid—as a home base for the research and/or writing up the research findings. Out of academic and practial considerations, candidates should be on sabbatical leave. The Foundation expects a scholarly publication to derive from the grant.
Grants to Host an International Colloquium in France
The Foundation offers grants of $35,000 to academics to organize and direct 3-day international coloquia in their academic fields at the Château de la Bretesche in the summer months of 2020. The Foundation funds severla every summer. They should be small in size, with participants equally divided between Americans and Europeans. The Foundation expects grantees to publish the proceedings.
