You are invited to join a GradNation webinar on the impact of poverty and adversity on academic achievement and to learn about two research-based strategies for supporting students. Participants will learn about the research base that sheds light on how poverty, adversity, and outside-of-school factors impact students’ academic success. In addition, participants will hear from two organizations, Turnaround for Children and City Connects, that are successfully addressing adolescent needs outside of the classroom. Presenters will share lessons learned and resources from their models and offer insight into how the models could be replicated.
This webinar is in support of the GradNation campaign’s Non-Academic Factors platform area. The GradNation campaign provides those working to increase high school graduation rates with data, best practices, and opportunities to connect and learn. Our goal is to increase the nation’s
on-time high school graduation rate to 90 percent.
