Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Equity, and Access @ Wagner // September 2023

We wish you a happy start of the Fall 2023 semester, and are excited to officially begin sending out our IDBEA newsletter for the 2023–2024 Academic Year. For those of you who are new to the Wagner community, the IDBEA newsletter is sent out monthly and features an assortment of Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Equity, and Access (IDBEA) related celebrations and work being done at Wagner.

September 15 marks the first day and start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Please join us in celebrating history, community, as well as working towards service and action as we highlight the continued IDBEA work at Wagner.

The Association of Latinx Students and Allies in Public Service (ALAS) enhances the educational and social experience at Wagner by creating platforms from which the NYU community can engage and advocate for issues at the intersection of our fields of study and topics relevant to Latinxs and their Diasporas around the world. ALAS provides a community-based space for exchanging knowledge, networking, and making cultural connections.

ALAS is actively recruiting members to join their Executive Board. Open positions include Communications Chair, Social Media Chair, and two First-Year Representatives. Please email Shannon Flores (skf9807@nyu.edu) and Lo Souza (ls6104@nyu.edu) about (1) your interest in ALAS, (2) your interest in the specific role and why you would be a good fit for the position and (3) how, as an ALAS E-Board member, you would work to create a sense of community for Latinx students and the Wagner student body at large. 3 paragraphs max. ¡Gracias!
