INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
MGH RESEARCH LAB that specializes in researching the clinical applications of Autism Spectrum Disorder is looking for an intern.
The
SYNAPSE Research Program strives to develop and enhance innovative treatment methods for autism spectrum disorder. We study the pathogenesis of ASD, specifically how individuals with autism compare to a healthy individual. We also utilize several research methods including projects that focus eye tracking, neuroimaging, and virtual reality.
As a student in our lab, you would gain exposure to all aspects of the study process. We encourage students to shadow study visits to become familiar with the consent process, assessments, and imaging procedures. Student tasks will vary depending on the lab’s current needs and the student’s specific interests, but can include submitting subject reimbursements, scoring and entering assessment data, preparing study visit documents, prescreening subjects over the phone, communicating with subjects about study visits, preparing data reports, etc.
We are looking for a junior who would be available to start as soon as possible. No prior relevant experience is needed, just an interest in clinical research. We would prefer someone who can volunteer about 6-10 hours per week, but are happy to work with the student’s schedule. This position will be open for the remainder of the semester with possibility of continuing into the summer. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is also plus. Anyone who is interested should send a short description of their background and interests, along with their resume, to
synapse@mgh.harvard.edu with the subject title SPRING 2019 INTERN: NAME.
