Supporting the Institute's goal to cultivate well-being, we’re beginning to share programs that help enhance the employee experience.
Last fall, with the launch of the GTHR strategic plan, we committed to "providing opportunities for people to be engaged and active in the Tech community and culture from recruitment to post-exit, creating harmonious and equitable experiences across modern work environments."
Below are two in-person opportunities to engage this month. As always, we are also sharing key updates and reminders leaders should know.
But first, in case you missed it, here are links to the Aug. 29, HR Topics for People Leaders recording and presentation.

USG Launching Total Reward Statements |
|
|
The value of working for USG extends far beyond a paycheck.
On Sept. 18, the System office will release Total Rewards Statements for all University System of Georgia benefits-eligible employees.
These personalized statements detail the employee compensation, healthcare and voluntary insurance benefits, the employer contributions, and other work-life benefits.
The statements will:
|
- help employees understand the value of what USG pays on their behalf,
-
highlight retirement contributions, which are higher than the private sector, and
- promote other work-life benefits, like paid time off well-being, and additional programs.
|
The USG Shared Services Center will be prepared to answer compensation questions from employees at 877-251-2644.
|
|
|
The University System of Georgia (USG) recently updated the Human Resources Administrative Practice (HRAP) policies. Updates related to recruiting and employment criteria are important to note. We encourage you to review the talking points to learn more about the HRAP Policy Updates.
Please contact your unit-level HR Partner or Director for support with job postings and interview criteria to be sure you are aligned with current policy.
View the Aug. 29 HR Topics for People Leaders presentation and recording for more details.

Microsoft Teams VIVA Insights is a great tool to informally recognize colleagues on the spot! You can also set recurring reminders to send praise to coworkers and direct reports.
This will help you build the habit of letting team members know you appreciate them.
