Understanding the Job Profiles
Job responsibilities capture general day-to-day job duties and provide an example of the work performed. For example, a general responsibility in the finance job family may be “reconcile accounts.” Detailed tasks for the role like “count petty cash daily” or “reconcile travel expenses for the department monthly” are set at the manager level and contribute to the organization’s strategic goals.
Career levels capture the degree of responsibility and decision-making authority of the role, as well as skill, knowledge, abilities, and experience required to perform the job responsibilities. For example, a supervisor level job may validate and pay invoices while a senior manager level job typically has fiscal approval authority.
