“Good Morning Indian Country,” a Native student-led weekly news and information program produced collaboratively by University of Kansas journalism students and students from Haskell Indian Nations University, is one of 205 small, local news outlets awarded funding from Press Forward, the nationwide movement to strengthen communities by reinvigorating local news.
“It’s going to help us grow our team,” said Melissa Greene-Blye, assistant professor in KU’s William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications and faculty supervisor for Good Morning Indian Country (GMIC). “It’s going to allow us to do some training and workshops to develop our team’s skills.”

Spring enrollment is coming! Are you ready? The time to enroll in spring classes is almost here, with some students starting this week. Before you can enroll, all enrollment holds must be cleared, such as past due balances, parking holds and immunization holds. You can check for holds in Enroll & Pay under your Student Services Center by finding the section called “Holds.” Any applicable hold will be listed, and by clicking on the hold name, you’ll see why it was placed and how to resolve it. Your Student Services Center also lists your assigned enrollment date and time, which is when your enrollment window will first open. Prepare in advance for your enrollment time by meeting with your academic advisor, reviewing degree requirements and their spring availability, and using tools like the Schedule Builder to construct a potential class schedule.
