ICYMI: Learn About Precision Nutrition and its Role in Population Health Management

Watch the recording of last week's PHA webinar, a fireside chat with a national leader in population health and nutrition Dr Jan Berger. With almost 40% of COVID-19 deaths due to those with a metabolic disease, it's imperative that together employers, payers and providers address this vulnerable group. Hosted by PHA Board member Dexter Shurney, MD and facilitated by Alice Eweida of DayTwo. DayTwo's precision nutrition solution is unique in its ability to control blood sugar and enable a path to diabetes remission.

Join PHA on Wednesday March 17th to hear from members Michael Abramoff, MD, PhD and Seth Rainford, MBA of Digital Diagnostics on the use of autonomous AI in healthcare. They will discuss a specific use case for diabetic retinopathy, the important ethical principles established for developing AI in healthcare, the state of autonomous AI reimbursement, and where the future is headed.

Ahead of Print

In the latest Ahead of Print article from the Official Journal of PHA "County-Level Determinants of COVID-19 Testing and Cases: Are there Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Texas?" authors Omolola E. Adepoju and Chinedum O. Ojinnaka examine "the relationship between county-level racial/ethnic composition and COVID-19 testing/cases in Texas, adjusting for population-level demographic characteristics, health factors, and health care access measures". Their Texas-based analysis confirmed the national trend of disproportionate impact of COVID-19 by race, and suggests that "Community-based strategies to improve access to testing or reduce community spread outside clinical settings should target counties with low primary care physician rates or a high proportion of uninsured residents."
