Happy February! We hope you all have been staying warm, dry, and energetic throughout these cold winter weeks. We’ve been keeping busy with all of the wonderful events that have been hosted in the past few weeks, and those that are coming up soon.
Language events in GH 308 are flourishing! This month so far, we’ve hosted:

- Tagalog Conversation Hours: Tuesdays 2-3pm
- French fondue: last Thursday, 5 February 4-5PM
- Japanese Karaoke: last Friday, 6 February 3-6PM

Interested in hosting your own language / culture event in GH 308? We’re happy to host it in 308 Grant Hall! Contact us at lclc@uic.edu to set up events for your program.
Also coming up later this month is Mother Language Day! In the spirit of celebrating every language, why not go ahead and see what other folks say their favorite word in any language is? Share your own favorite word in the language you are learning or in any language you know! Click here to share your favorite word(s): you can submit as many responses as you like for as many languages as you want.
