HEALTH-E NEWS
Friday, may 3, 2019
This is our last weekly newsletter of the year. We will resume in September. We hope you have a productive and restful summer. Take time to reflect on your past year, and to continue to delve into your understanding of, and motivation for, a health profession. Your thoughtful self-awareness will make you a stronger candidate moving forward.

VOLUNTEERING

You never have done “enough” volunteering to gain exposure to our healthcare system and to develop your capacity for compassion, respect for others and cultural competence.

Do you know we have a listing of about 75 local volunteer opportunities on our website? Think outside of the box and don’t do what every other premed does. If you are staying in Boston for the summer, one of these opportunities may be appealing to you. If you will be elsewhere, our list can still give you ideas of healthcare organizations which you can seek out in your hometown area.

JOB/POSTGRAD OPPORTUNITY

Tufts alum Sonja Kytömaa, Class of 2015 sent this opportunity

Research Assistant, Brigham and Women's Hospital Cardiology Division
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in clinical and epidemiological research. While there are some administrative aspects to the job, there is a lot of potential to get involved with research projects and work closely with clinicians.
Be sure to use the Career Center at Tufts to learn about other job opportunities, both full-time and part-time.
