THE GIVING TREE
The Warm Hearth Foundation’s Giving Tree offers a unique opportunity to honor or remember a loved one while helping to support seniors in need at Warm Hearth Village. Located in the Karr Activity Center on the Warm Hearth campus, your loved one’s name will be engraved on a leaf and displayed on the Giving Tree in recognition of your gift. Proceeds from the purchase of leaves on the Giving Tree benefit the Warm Hearth Foundation’s Brian H. Smith Benevolence Endowment. Gold, silver and bronze leaves are available. Only 10 leaves remain on the Giving Tree – call 540-443-3406 today to reserve your leaf!

Gold Leaf $500

Silver Leaf $250

Bronze Leaf $100

ALL ABOARD
We are picking up steam at the Village Center with the return of the New River Valley Modular Railroad Club’s train exhibit. Every set in the exhibit is designed to scale and models the Norfolk & Western transition period of the 1950s and 1960s. The meticulous detail of the scenery is modeled on the hills, valleys and industry of Southwest Virginia. Visitors, both young and old, are allowed to run the trains around the layout and be the conductor for the day.

4 NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS TO THRIVE

In 2019, set a goal that focuses on bettering your overall health, both physically and mentally.

Exercise every day.
Consider joining the Warm Hearth Fitness Center that is staffed by trained professionals who will assist you in developing a personal exercise routine as well as nutritional goals.

Explore new volunteer opportunities. Warm Hearth Village has a wide range of opportunities to volunteer and make a difference.

Spend more time with the grandkids or loved ones. Get out and visit the ones you love and let them know how much you care.

Challenge your brain regularly. Challenging your brain regularly keeps your cognitive skills sharp and reduces your chance of experiencing memory loss. This year, make time to play games that'll force your mind to work in overdrive or, better yet, take up a new language.

THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR

As we reflect on the past year, we truly realize how much we’ve grown and we are grateful to our staff and clients for their support.  Our caring and professional staff has helped seniors from throughout the New River Valley recover from injury and illness and helped to educate them on ways to manage increasing health needs and chronic illnesses.  Our clients have enriched our lives in countless ways by allowing us to get to know them and their families and provide a support network for them as they navigate major life changes.

Many of our clients have expressed deep gratitude to our office staff, nurses, therapists and caregivers for helping them through their recovery with skilled care and home care services.  The letters and kind words mean so much to us and truly motivate us as we look forward to helping new families in 2019.

For more information about we can help you or someone you know remain safe and independent in your home, call 540-443-3428.
