What's New with PDX Next: Ticket Lobby and January Forum
Ticket Lobby: There will be lots of overhead work happening in the ticket lobby over the next two weeks. Now through Tuesday, Feb. 6, crews will install vertical finish panels above the north temporary wall in the Southwest and American queue areas. On Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, crews will install ceiling grid above the Delta queue areas. And, on Wednesday, Feb. 7, through Wednesday, Feb. 14, crews will install vertical finish panels above the American and Delta queue areas.
During all of these efforts, the aisle in front of the ticket counters will close periodically while scissor lifts change locations. Access to some airline kiosks will be blocked while work is performed, but work will not block all kiosks at the same time.
January Forum: If you missed the January PDX Next forum, you can watch the recording and catch up on behind-the-scenes photos of big moments, learn what’s next in 2024, and find out the answer to everyone’s favorite question, “When will the Concourse Connector return?”

Celebrate Black History Month at PDX
February is Black History Month, a time dedicated to acknowledging the invaluable contributions of Black individuals from across the diaspora and celebrating the richness and depth Black people and culture add to the world.
This month, we’re focusing on the intersection of African Americans and the Arts. Around the airport, we’re thrilled to showcase the exceptional talent of local Black artists all month long.
  • Alonzo Chadwick: Vocalist Alonzo Chadwick joins us on Thursday, Feb. 8, to share his incredible vocal range and amazing voice with the PDX community. His energetic stage presence brings peace and joy to listeners.
  • Nafisaria Mathews: On Thursday, Feb. 22, singer/guitarist Nafisaria Mathews will bring her talents to PDX. Her sultry voice has graced many stages with artists like Esperanza Spalding, Liv Warfield, Portland Cello Project and Mz.Etta's World, to name a few.
We're excited to pay homage to those whose brilliance has shaped music, art, theater, and dance into what it is today. For more information, visit the Black History Month website.

Ring In the Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, starts on Saturday, Feb. 10, this year. It marks the end of the Year of the Rabbit and the beginning of the Year of the Dragon.
We're holding a Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. The event features a traditional lion dance performance by the White Lotus Dance Crew, followed by a dragon procession through PDX. There will also be red envelopes filled with chocolate coins for PDX People and travelers!
Join us post-security at the B/C checkpoint for fun, treats and to learn more about the Lunar New Year.
