The candidate will be expected to teach a minimum of three courses per semester in the core curriculum of the Department, specifically in the sport management curriculum. Candidates with teaching specializations and expertise in any aspect of sport management, sport event management, eSports, sport marketing, sport programming, recreational sports, and youth sports or other closely related fields will be considered. Candidates with background and expertise in the intersections of sport and the natural/built environment, event planning and marketing, and recreation planning are highly desirable.

Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor of Parks, Recreation, Sport, and Tourism – University of Missouri
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to Parks, Recreation, Sport, and Tourism (PRST). Primary responsibilities will include organizing and teaching four courses per semester in both spring and fall semesters (a total of 8 courses per year). The successful candidate will teach courses such as Sport Tourism, Sport Management, Global Sport Environments, Business of Sport and Recreation, Sport and Recreation Marketing, Trends in Sport and Recreation, along with advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Durham Sports Commission Internship Program
The Durham Sports Commission Internship Program offers academic credit, and we are willing to work with our interns to meet their specific credit needs. Please submit your application by the following deadlines for the season in which you are applying for the internship:
Fall Program – July 21 (Beginning in the fall of 2025, we are also looking for an intern to join the DSC team for a full year. Please indicate whether you are interested in the full-year internship or a semester-long internship.)
