Volunteering is a priceless work of heart!
April is National Volunteer Month! Volunteer tutors are the lifeblood of Literacy Together. Each week, more than 250 pairs of tutors and students spend time together to move forward with literacy goals--first-grade students learning to read, newly arrived immigrants improving their English, adults studying for their High School Equivalency exam, and so much more.
When asked why they volunteer, one tutor summed it up this way: "It's the students. They inspire!"
Thanks to each of you for the lives you touch with your passion for making a difference. Together we are transforming lives and communities through the power of literacy!
