"My 56th birthday started like many others with a traditional family barbecue. After some discussion with my son about the proper way to light a barbecue, I ended up with singed hair. In an attempt to rid myself of the smell, I took a shower. And that's where I found the lump in my breast.

I was hoping for chocolate. Instead, I got cancer."

This soup from the Canadian Cancer Society is a good comfort food when you’re not feeling well. You can double the recipe and freeze it to be quickly heated up, or you could freeze the roasted squash to make a fresh batch of soup later. Add whipping cream to the dish if you want extra calories!

Video: Nadia's Cancer Story (Personality)

When Nadia was diagnosed with breast cancer, she decided to throw a scarf-making and hair-cutting party with her closest supporters. Twenty-four inches of dreadlocks fell to the floor as her husband, daughter and friends took turns cutting piece by piece.

Joke of the Month

The wife and I took a long, leisurely drive out to the country and pulled over to fill up our car's gas tank and tires... She was surprised to see that the station had a fee to fill the tires and asked me, "Why in the world do they charge for AIR?!"
I responded, "Inflation."
