Prepare for Commencement 2026 |
|
|
Dear Undergraduate Degree Candidate,
Thank you for verifying your diploma name, sharing where your diploma should be mailed and completing the order for your regalia earlier this spring. If you have not verified your name as you wish it to be printed on your diploma and in the commencement book or entered where your diploma should be mailed, please make sure to verify and update it before May 1; instructions are available online.
It’s now time to let us know where you plan to align for the all-University celebration and which department ceremony(s) you plan to attend.
These choices are made through the My Commencement page in SIS. It will open for responses on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 and needs to be completed no later than Thursday, April 23, 2026. Additional details regarding the process are available online.
To access the My Commencement page in SIS, log into SIS and select "My Graduation Status."
You will be asked to provide the following:
|
-
Alignment Area: TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS! To ensure that you can sit with your friends at the all-University celebration on May 17, 2026 you need to tell us where you want to assemble before entering the academic quad. Your friends will need to select the same location. There is a finite number of spaces per area so make sure you plan ahead. Students should be at their alignment area, dressed in regalia by 8:15 a.m. on commencement day.
-
Number of Guests: To provide a comfortable day for all, please estimate the number of guests who will attend the ceremonies. Please remember graduates are limited to six (6) guests for commencement weekend events. Tickets will be required for guests to attend commencement ceremonies (as well as the baccalaureate ceremony). Details regarding tickets will be made available in a few weeks.
-
Commencement Venue: Students graduating with more than one major or program will need to tell us which ceremony they wish to attend. If you have more than one major or program, you may indicate you plan to attend both ceremonies but only if they are not at the same time. Students who do not provide us with this information will be assigned to the event related to their primary major or program. Please note that undergraduate students who are receiving a degree in the School of Engineering will commence at the ceremony on the Green (academic quad) at 11:30 a.m.
- Record your name: Once you select which ceremony you will attend, copy and paste the link under Event Notes to record your name as you wish it to be announced at the ceremony. If you plan to attend more than one department ceremony, make sure to record your name for both events. Please make sure to record your name before senior week begins.
|
Make sure to you are ready and eligible to participate in Commencement 2026 events by completing the applicable item(s) below.

Complete your Senior Survey: All graduating students are required to complete a senior survey. Students will receive an email from the Office of Institutional Research towards the end of April with instructions and a unique link to access and complete the survey.
-
Complete loan exit interview, if applicable: If you have borrowed a student loan to attend Tufts you will be required to complete a loan exit interview which explains your rights and responsibilities as a loan borrower. Additional communications will be sent to your Tufts email beginning early in April.

-
Financially cleared: All graduating students must pay any outstanding balance due to the university prior to degree conferral. Please review your student account in SIS and settle any outstanding balance owed to Tufts. If you have an available credit, make sure to submit your refund request in SIS prior to the end of the semester.
-
Email for Life for Tufts Alumni: Starting with the class of 2015, alumni have the option to keep their @tufts.edu email address and have incoming email forwarded to a personal account. To send your @tufts.edu email to a personal account, follow the step-by-step email forwarding instructions. If you will be graduating soon, you should also forward or copy any emails that you want to keep. They will be deleted from Tufts' servers after you graduate.
