Dear Student,
The Student Affairs Advisory Councils will work closely with the Dean of Student Affairs Office to provide essential input and ideas to student life initiatives. Our aim is for the councils to become core partners in the broader work of developing, enhancing, and supporting the student experience at Tufts. Each council will include approximately 20 students and will meet for one hour each month; sometimes more if there are multiple or complex issues to discuss. We hope to complete the recruitment process by December 20. Each council needs to be fully representative of our student body’s diversity in every sense of the term. We want to be intentional to include students whose voices may not otherwise be heard. These students are therefore most likely not already participating in student government or other campus leadership roles.
Our first project will be working on a strategic plan for the Division of Student Affairs. As we strive to provide the most robust and rewarding experience to current and future generations of students, Tufts AS&E Student Affairs has begun creating a 5-year strategic plan designed to guide us towards our objectives. Those objectives include providing students with a residential experience that meets their needs, supports their academic and personal goals, and creates a healthy, vibrant, and diverse community they can thrive in. We want to ensure that undergraduate and graduate students are fully engaged with us on this initiative and will play a central role throughout the strategic plan’s implementation.
If this sounds exciting to you, please take a few minutes and use this form to nominate yourself for our consideration. Thank you in advance, and we look forward to the work ahead!
