TVMA Makes Plans for the Future On October 25, a Strategic Planning meeting was held to set goals for TVMA over the next two years. Facilitated by Bob Harris, CAE, of The Non-Profit Center, participants included President Dr. Maben Thompson, President-Elect Dr. Susan Moon, Vice President Dr. Joe Ed Conn, Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Midge Phillips, Executive Board members Drs. Marisa Shulman, Russell Reel, Mandy Willis, and Danny Walker, Past Presidents Drs. Allan Holladay and Walter Clark, and staff members Deloris Green Gaines, Adele Reed, and Darlene Clendenon. Anti-Declawing Activists Ramping Up Efforts Against Veterinarians
Anti-declawing activists have been ramping up efforts against veterinarians who these activists feel are "dishonoring their oath" by offering declawing of domestic cats. Some activists are using social media and insulting and threatening emails and phone calls. An email sent to an AVMA staff member by an activist includes a statement that she intends to target veterinarians she believes are practicing veterinary medicine in an unethical manner on her new Facebook page. | Electronic Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) for TN Accredited Veterinarians The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has provided updated information on electronic certificates of veterinary inspection. Lindsey Ricketts Harper
Zoetis Lindsey grew up in Southern Missouri and graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla with a degree in Industrial Engineering. She has had a diverse career background with occupations including, but not limited to: Mechanical Engineer, bar/restaurant owner, Junior High Science teacher and Stallion breeding manager. She is currently an Equine Territory Manager for Zoetis covering Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Northern Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. She began her career with Pfizer in 2011 and has enjoyed meeting so many great people in the territory and the industry. Lindsey comes from a family that breeds and trains barrel horses and has been competing in the event ever since she can remember. She currently lives in Cross Plains with her husband (Brian), 3 dogs (Muzzy, Buckshot and Katie), and 30 something horses. She enjoys spending time with her family, riding horses and working out.
