FAQ of the Month
I'm feeling stuck in a rut. Any suggestions for energizing my academic/professional life?
It’s easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day and lose track of the bigger picture. As we begin the year, check in with your goals by using these tips:
Reflect on your personal mission. Try a tool like the FranklinCovey Personal Mission Statement Builder to reexamine on your current trajectory.
Change your environment. Go beyond a simple office redecoration and think about things like task association and contextual clues. Here’s a look at the psychology behind why environmental changes are effective (or not!).
Learn something new. Exercising your intellect in a different way and gaining new skills is a great way to recharge. Use a site like Lynda.com to take a self-directed course in something that interests you.
Find a mentor. (And help someone else.) Pick someone you’ve always wanted to learn from and arrange a coffee or lunch. Simultaneously, think of ways you can use your knowledge and skills to give back by helping others. Visit the link below for more about forming connections.
