Tufts Welcomes Pre-Law Advisor Dovie King
Interested in law? As the new pre-law advisor at Tufts, my role is to help students and alumni from any discipline, school, or major to explore career options in the legal profession. It doesn’t matter if you are a new student, recent graduate, or well into your professional career. If law interests you, it’s never too early or late to learn how to explore and pursue it.
I have attended law school, passed the bar exam in Massachusetts, New York, and California and had a rewarding career as a lawyer for over 20 years. I have also taught legal studies courses to undergraduates and advised students at Harvard Law School and Thomas Jefferson School of Law about careers in public interest, international human rights, government, the judiciary, in-house and private practice. My experience includes networking, publishing articles and serving on the Board of Directors of the American Constitution Society – San Diego Lawyer Chapter, La Raza Lawyers, and the American Bar Association’s Immigration Justice Project. Currently, I am a member of the Women’s Bar Association and I chair the Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in my town.
As a Spanish-speaker, first generation graduate and the daughter of immigrants, I am interested in advising all students and alumni from diverse backgrounds. My goal is to provide practical advice about the LSAT, law school admissions, law school applications and career options tailored to your specific needs and interests. I am available to meet with you by appointment or during walk-in hours.
I look forward to helping you on your journey!
