The 2025 Winter Involvement Fair is this Thursday: please encourage your students to stop by between 11-2 in SCE Illinois Room. Join LCLC staff to publicize your LCSL programs – volunteer on this spreadsheet! We’ll hand out buttons and flyers to encourage students to get involved.
Our 21 Language Learning Assistants helped out in 24 language classes last week (and every week of the semester). LLAs plan for an hour before every class, so they are well-prepared, enthusiastic, and supportive. There is still time for more upper level students in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Arabic to join the Peer Tutoring Apprenticeship class (1 credit). Students can contact lclc@uic.edu to express interest, and we’ll give them all the information they need.
Events in 308 Grant Hall start strong this week with a French and Francophone Studies crafting party coming up this Wednesday as well as a Chinese Lunar New Year Party next Monday (more details in the links and in the flyers below). Weekly language events also begin TODAY with Spanish Conversation Hour, followed by German and French on Wednesday plus Chinese, Hindi, and Japanese on Friday.
Planning an event centered on language and/or culture? We’re happy to host it in 308 Grant Hall! Contact us at lclc@uic.edu to set up events for your program.
