Mr. Ramsey goes to Washington! 💼 🏛️

At the end of last week, Brandon Ramsey, PCA's Membership Services Director, traveled to Washington, D.C., to represent the City of Phoenix's Workforce Development Board, which he serves as a member. Brandon was one of two Arizona attendees represented at the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) Forum.

The forum was an extension of the city's Community and Economic Development Department (CEDD) efforts, which the board works alongside to bring more medium and large companies to Phoenix by strengthening recruitment tools available to citizens. The event exposed participants to various technology solutions and industry partnerships to bring recruits into these company spaces.

Brandon took this opportunity to gather insights and best practices from keynote speakers and panel discussions to support the work of PCA's Education Partnerships Committee. He highlighted an inspiring keynote by local author Mark C. Perna, whose remarks on "purpose-driven education" left a lasting impact. A key takeaway was the importance of fostering connections with industry professionals, including those who have built successful careers without a college degree.

If you're a Member and want to know how industries connect with our education Members, come to our monthly Education Partnerships meeting on the third Tuesday of the month!
