Description:
The story shows the natural progression of how Team Amani connects now through Meta’s apps and how it will evolve with the metaverse, providing a new way to connect beyond the traditional bounds of reality and allow people to feel like they are together with one another even when far apart thanks to a wide range of metaverse-related tech such as virtual reality and augmented reality.

This vision for the future, based on the story of a real team of cyclists, will help people see the possibilities for how the metaverse can bring us together with benefits not just to our experiences in virtual worlds, but also in our everyday lives by helping us push past any limitations.

That’s because with Meta’s apps and the metaverse, life can be richer together when there’s nothing holding us back.

Maintaining authenticity was key to developing and filming this story. All the cyclists you see throughout the film are real Team Amani members. The work was shot entirely in East Africa and the narration you hear throughout the piece was developed through countless hours of athlete interviews.

Even the imagined metaverse scenes, like the boardroom, were developed in partnership with Team Amani, and reflect the needs and aspirations of these athletes. Finally, while the film includes several individual cyclists (like Sule delivering milk), we aimed to tell a Team, rather than individual, story.
