Description:
1932. America is in the middle of The Great Depression, trying to build its way out of it, literally. One image became a symbol of hope during this time: Lunch Atop A Skyscraper. And it’s also become one of the most iconic images of New York City.

2021. The world is in the middle of a global pandemic and the economy reeling from it. London to New York, British Airways most lucrative and iconic route, allowed to reopen. Hope on the horizon again.

So naturally it needed something iconic to re-launch it: Lunch Atop a Skyscraper – reimagined. Meticulously shot to match the same positions as the original, almost impossible with covid restrictions in place, scrutinising every shoulder, arm, torso and leg to ensure their bodies shifted position naturally, without straying too far from the 1932 postures, the re-toucher on set overlaying every single shot to the original until it was a perfect match.

Carefully replicating the lighting to capture the flat light of a hazy September day in New York.
