Orange County Government is taking its show on the road. The next Orange County Roadshow will be held Sunday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Cedar Grove Community Center at 5800 NC Highway 86, Hillsborough.
This free, family-friendly event will allow community members to conveniently access government services in an informal setting close to home. More than 20 county departments will be present to answer questions, share program information, and assist with applications for services.

Free Voter ID Event on Oct. 4 |

Orange County voters who need a photo ID for voting may visit the Board of Elections office on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to get their free ID. Voters may also use this opportunity to register to vote or update their registration.

HB 318 – The Criminal Illegal Alien Enforcement Act – Becomes Law Oct. 1 |
The Orange County Office of Civil Rights and Civic Life has created a page to help residents understand new state laws that may affect their rights. It includes summaries, key details, full Bill links, and tips for preparation.
Effective Oct. 1, HB 318 – The Criminal Illegal Alien Enforcement Act – will require administrators in detention centers and judicial officials setting initial release conditions for serious misdemeanors and all felonies to determine if a person is a U.S. citizen or has legal residency status. If this can’t be determined, individuals face a period of detention while ICE is contacted.
