Kick off the semester on the east side of campus at MavsMeet Convocation, today, Monday, Aug. 21, at 5:30 p.m. Join fellow Mavericks at College Park Center for an evening of UTA traditions, entertainment, and guest speakers.
This year's featured convocation speaker is Laurie Hernandez, American Olympic medalist in gymnastics, Dancing with the Stars champion, and author of two New York Times bestsellers.

Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Development names new executive director
|
Paul J. Corson has been named the next executive director for UTA’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Development. Starting in early September, Corson will be expected to develop relationships with investors and form industry partnerships to help students and faculty further develop and commercialize research findings.

| Junior faculty visit Washington
|
Six junior faculty members were part of a UTA delegation that traveled to Washington, D.C., to make connections within federal agencies and learn about their funding priorities. UTA researchers will now be able to better tailor their grant applications and hopefully be more successful at winning awards from federal funders. UTA is pilot testing this strategy with plans to expand as the program matures.

Behavior intervention referrals

UTA's Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) works to support students of concern by providing support and connections to campus resources. If you are concerned for a student's well-being or if they are in distress, please refer them to BIT. To complete a BIT referral, use our referral form.
