The Emory Inter-Religious Council began its 31st year on September 12, 2022
Dear Alumni and Friends,
Greetings from campus, where the heat of the summer is beginning to turn a little cooler, and the initial flurry of fall Orientation has turned into the rhythms of the fall semester.
I want to let you know we are thinking of you from Emory, and we’ve had a great start to the year with a wonderful WISE interfaith pre-orientation program with 40 amazing students participating. Important programs like the Emory Inter-Religious Council have resumed, meeting every Monday night for dinner and discussion--now 31 years strong. And we have seen an outpouring of new involvement in our spiritual communities, from Beloved Community worship, to Voices of Inner Strength, to Buddhist meditation, our Jewish and Muslim communities, and vibrant Hindu holidays.

Please know that the activities of interfaith spiritual growth, understanding, and friendship-making are continuing every week at Emory, and the students engaged are tremendously inspired and inspiring.
As a friend and donor of spiritual life at Emory, you might like to know we are currently completing the design phase of the Emory Interfaith Center, and we should start construction soon. As we do, we’re excited to announce our new Interfaith Center website has launched, which has renderings of the new spaces. Please take a look, and know we will be inviting you to the Grand Opening Celebration sometime next fall: https://interfaithcenter.emory.edu

Emory Interfaith Center, Opening Fall 2023
We are currently raising funds to ensure there are the proper shrines and goods for our different religious communities in the center, as well as beautiful art that reflects the world’s spiritual traditions—including those of the Muscogee Nation with whom we are building a new relationship. We got to know the Nation better on a Journey of Reconciliation to Oklahoma last spring.
We would be grateful if you would consider including Emory OSRL in your fall giving this year, toward the Religious Life Center Fund or any of our funds, now or during Emory Giving Week, especially November 3.
Emory Homecoming 2022
We hope your fall plans will bring you back to campus for Emory Homecoming on October 20-23, and we would love to see you at our OSRL Affinity Tent on Saturday, October 22 from Noon-5:30 pm, or any of the spiritual gatherings taking place over the weekend: https://www.religiouslife.emory.edu/programs/homecoming-and-family-weekend.html.
We always love to hear from you, so please drop us a line, and please know you are in our prayers, meditations and thoughts here at the heart of Emory.
Warm regards,
Greg
