Upcoming Training and Events:
|
- January 30 - Assessing and Responding to Anonymous Threats in K-12 Schools
|
The training will feature a facilitated discussion with school and district leaders on their experiences with managing anonymous threats – such as hoax calls, threats received on social media or via email, and notes found on school grounds – and maintaining the safety of their communities. The discussion will explore anonymous threat trends affecting K-12 schools, the criticality of early awareness and deterrence of future threats, key partners in addressing threats, and appropriate response actions that schools and local law enforcement partners can take when threats are received.

Training Opportunity to Support Students with Disabilities |
Two opportunities for in-person training in Crisis Management for School-Based Incidents at Rural Schools |
AWR 148 is an 8-hour, DHS/FEMA-certified, tuition-free course designed to
educate rural law enforcement personnel as well as school administrators
and staff on the elements that would allow for an effective response to
school-based emergencies. Schools in small, rural, and remote areas across
the country account for almost 23 percent of the total student population
(more than 11million students). Rural schools, law enforcement, and other
emergency responders are often limited in resources. It is imperative that all
potentially affected parties collaborate on planning, preparing,
communicating, responding, and recovering from a school-based incident.

You play a vital role in educating your friends, family, and colleagues on how to make healthy decisions. This includes raising awareness of the dangers of taking counterfeit medications.
Criminal drug networks are flooding the United States with fake pills containing lethal substances like fentanyl. 2024 DEA laboratory testing indicated that 5 out of 10 pills tested contain a potentially deadly dose of fentanyl. Even small amounts (2mg) of fentanyl, equivalent to a pencil tip, can be deadly.
Drug traffickers use pill presses to create these deadly counterfeit medications. By imprinting markings and logos onto pills, they produce products that look like legitimate prescription medication. The only safe medications are ones prescribed by a trusted medical professional and dispensed by a licensed pharmacist. Do not trust medications from unknown sources.
