| CENTER for CAREER and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT |
Finding the Leader in You (FLY) Career Readiness and Leadership Training Program |
August 12-16, 2024 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
The FLY (Finding the Leader in You) training program helps you inculcate the essential soft skills that research has shown are critical to your competitiveness in the job market, for your effectiveness in the workplace and for developing ethical leadership abilities.
A recent CNBC study of several million job postings found that 93% of employers wanted to see soft skills in the resumes of the candidates!
The specific soft skills that FLY teaches - Conscientiousness, Innovativeness, Taking Initiative, Perseverance and Problem-Solving - are not just essential to succeeding in the workplace, but also the ones that employers look for in a well-rounded candidate. These skills will help you to apply the 'hard' skills you have learned to real-life situations at work and in life to become more effective and get results!
FLY Training will be held on campus on August 12-16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., — free of cost — to 36 students selected by NJCU. There will also be cash awards worth $6,000 for the best-performing students, as well as digital badges to be added to your LinkedIn profiles.
To apply for FLY Training, please fill out this application https://app.joinhandshake.com/edu/surveys/102754. It will be reviewed — with emphasis on your answers to questions #4 and #5 — to determine your eligibility for this program.
If you want to learn more about FLY, including course descriptions, timings, benefits, cash awards, and the application process, join us for a half-hour online information session.
The dates for the 30 minute info sessions:
|
- July 8, 10 a.m.
- July 24, 12 p.m.
- August 7, 6 p.m.
