WEEKLY UPDATE – April 7

Happy spring! As nature awakens with vibrant blooms and melodies, we're delighted to highlight the Cultural Centers and the resources they have to offer. As always, if you have any general questions, you can contact our office by phone, chat, or email. If you have specific immigration questions, you can also make an appointment with your ISSS adviser online. 

The Cultural Centers serve as outlets for student-run programs to explore social issues and identity. The centers bring students together to increase their understanding and embrace their roles as members of a diverse community, locally and globally. Cafe International is a community space for international students to mingle, bond, and find support at USF. It is hosted by the Cultural Centers’ international community intern, Devi! The space, food, and activities are provided, you just need to come!

A laid-back haven curated for painting your nails while engaging in enriching discussions on various aspects of life for women and LGBTQ+ people.

Last Day to Drop Courses or Withdraw: Today, April 7, is the last day to drop a class or withdraw with a 'W' notated on your academic record. Please be aware that you should maintain your full-time status, so contact your ISSS adviser before dropping a class.

Registration Period Is Open: The registration period for fall 2025 classes is April 7 – Aug. 25. Keep yourself updated with the academic calendar and registration calendar »

Real ID Deadline: The U.S. government will start enforcing the Real ID Act on May 7. Please refer to our California Driver License or State Identification Card web page for more information.

Missed our Tax Workshop? Access the recording here. The tax deadline is April 15. You can file your taxes through the free online tax preparation software called Sprintax. In order to receive the free service, you should log in through MyISSS and click on the link on your homepage.

Congratulations, international grads! Your journey at USF has been extraordinary, and we can’t wait to celebrate your achievements. Share your USF story and inspire others by completing our Graduating International Student Survey. If you are a graduating international student who has served the international community at USF, we would also love to hear from you! During the new presidential administration, ISSS is monitoring and communicating immigration updates that may affect our international students. Visit our International Student Support web page for updates and resources.

If you are requesting an immigration document or letter from our office, remember that we request ten business days to process requests. Make sure you plan accordingly so you have enough time to receive your document before you need it. All ISSS requests should be submitted through the MyISSS student portal (log into your MyISSS account, go to Requests & Documents, and select the appropriate icon on the right side of the page). You can view our MyISSS Student Handbook for assistance with your submission.

Click the Chat with ISSS button on the bottom, right corner of any ISSS webpage, and the ISSS team can assist you with your inquiry.

Appointments can be made online. Appointments are booked in 20-minute increments.
