Whether you’re a new or returning student, the first week of classes is always full of excitement! Be on the lookout for Week of Welcome Tents from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, and Tuesday, Aug. 18. See all the tent locations so you’ll know where to stop if you have questions or need directions. Online learners can find support the first two weeks of class through drop-in sessions, extended hours for Online Student Success Coaching and the kickoff to their Online Jumpstart Series.
At Frisco Landing, from Monday, Aug. 17, through Thursday, Aug. 20, you’ll find various campus departments and services in the Lobby, as well as activities and giveaways from 2 to 3:30 p.m. each day on floors 1-3.
And in Denton, don’t miss the UNT Back to School Bash from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, on the Library Mall where departments will be tabling so students can learn more about the resources they offer.

Getting around campus can sometimes be a challenge. For drivers, bikers and hikers, here are a few tips to help make your travel to and around campus stress-free:
|
-
DCTA offers free, unlimited bus rides to any UNT student with a valid student ID, with bus routes running between the Denton campus, many student apartments and Discovery Park. Use the Transit app to track DCTA buses in real-time and plan your route.

Regarding parking, the size of Eagle Commuter Lot 40 has now quadrupled while Resident Reserved Lot 32 has doubled! Use UNT’s interactive parking map to make sure you’re parking in the lot that’s right for your permit. Still need a parking permit? Find out which is right for you and purchase yours before the semester starts.
- Students are not permitted to bring micro-mobility vehicles inside UNT buildings. There are plenty of bike racks available around campus, and the UNT Police offer free U-locks to help keep your vehicle secure.
-
If you ride a bicycle to get around campus, the Bike Shop between the General Academic Building and Sycamore Hall can help with bike repairs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday every week.
