Health Program Fair 🏥

It's that time of year again! Our Health Program Fair is happening THIS WEEKEND. At the fair, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with faculty and students from all College of Health Professions and Kirkhof College of Nursing programs in an open house format
  • Tour our state-of-the-art facilities and Simulation Center
  • Chat with professional advisors about courses, applications, and any questions you have
  • Take home exclusive GVSU CHP swag

This event is great for students who:

  • Are exploring a parallel plan/backup major
  • Want to connect with graduate programs early
  • Are CHP swag enthusiasts
  • Just want to explore all the things the CHP has to offer

Undergraduate secondary admission applications open October 1st!

Those interested in applying should meet with their advisor to discuss program eligibility and application requirements. Visit the CHP Student Services website to find specific application deadlines and more information.

Pro tip: APPLY EARLY! Applicants who apply early are more likely to have all of their materials submitted on time.

 

Parallel Planning

Join CHP advising and the Career Center for a Parallel Planning session to explore alternative health majors that align with your passions and goals. Learn how to build a flexible backup plan that keeps you on track for a successful healthcare career, no matter which CHP program you choose.

Inclusive Practice: Accessibility

This month, the CHP is highlighting the interdisciplinary education event below to expand your knowledge on the importance of inclusion and accessibility.

The event covers awareness, fostering an inclusive environment, language, accessibility, models of thought, basic understanding, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. 

The speaker, Jon Cauchi, is an inclusion consultant and trainer at Disability Advocates of Kent County. Jon also has a personal journey that ignited unwavering advocacy after losing most of his sight at age 12. He brings passion, knowledge, and dedication to all his work.

Jon's overarching goal is to create a true sense of belonging for all individuals. Through his expertise and personal experiences, he strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those he encounters.
