This music video for “The Stars in Your Eyes,” written and performed by Daniel Fecteau (MM ’25, music education), features Fecteau playing the violin and using a loop station to build layers of violin lines on the spot, creating immersive musical textures and melodies.
Filmed in SMTD’s Dance Building, the video also features Kara Roseborough (MFA ’24, dance) performing a dance work she choreographed to accompany the music. Sly Pup Productions shot and directed this music video and also mixed the audio recording.
Fecteau’s upcoming album of his violin looping work was recorded in a studio in the James and Anne Duderstadt Center. The facilities available to SMTD students are critical to their ability to express their creativity and explore dynamic collaborations. A new building would open up those possibilities both for SMTD and for the entire arts community at U-M.
We invite you to learn more about creative spaces and the other top priorities of SMTD’s Look to Michigan campaign.
