Industry partners, please join us for a collaborative panel discussion on “Demystifying the Visa Hiring Process: A Guide to Hiring International Students” on Wednesday, February 21 from 8-10 AM at the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health. We will be joined by our colleagues from Global Detroit, West Michigan Tech Talent, Corewell Health, BAMF Health, Bravo LT and ImLaw for this important and timely event. School of Computing Hosts Inaugural Alumni Networking Event |

The School of Computing had the pleasure of welcoming back graduates to their inaugural Computing Alumni Networking event. Alumnus and MichiganLabs co-founder and managing partner, Josh Hulst, opened the evening with an inspirational talk encouraging the West Michigan community to keep driving our region forward in technology innovation.

Roger That! Conference Will Explore Life in Space |
|
|
|
Life in space is the theme for this year's Roger That! Conference, where attendees will hear from a former NASA astronaut who was also the first orthopedic surgeon in space. Dr. Robert Satcher will deliver the keynote, speaking both days of the event, February 16 and 17.
Programming from the conference will take a broad look at life, including microbes, plants, animals, extraterrestrial life and homo sapiens. Experts will also explore what it's like to be a human in space..
There will be two opportunities to hear Satcher present his speech. Satcher will speak at 6:30 p.m. February 16 at the L. William Seidman Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The lecture is free through registration at the Roger That! website.
Satcher will also speak at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17th at the GRPM. Tickets for this lecture are available free of charge at the GRPM website. Advance ticketing is strongly recommended as the lecture is expected to reach capacity quickly.

Dr. Zachary DeBruine Receives Distinguished Early Career Scholar Award |

Congratulation to Dr. Zach DeBruine for receiving the Distinguished Early-Career Scholar Award.
Dr. DeBruine leads research on transformative clinical solutions enabled by Artificial Genomic Intelligence. His student research team works on building multimodal generative AI models to solve problems in modern healthcare using big genomics datasets.
We at PCEC are grateful for the transformative work you do advocating for excellent student-centered research, faculty-led innovation, and interdisciplinary AI literacy.
