Teens invest in their future at first Youth Summit

This month, Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County hosted more than two dozen teenagers for our inaugural Habitat U Youth Summit. During the event, generously sponsored by PNC Bank and Central Florida Foundation, 30 high school students gained invaluable knowledge about financial literacy and community engagement. From how to balance a budget to how our governments function, the teenagers learned important lessons and skills to better prepare for their futures. Our next Youth Summit is slated for September!

Key Moments

Congratulations to our new Habitat homeowners!

Kaletah (top) said her new Habitat home will provide stability for her daughters, and a place they can call their own, serving as a foundation for their family going forward. She finds comfort in knowing her girls will always have a place to call home.
Maddie & Kermit (bottom) are happy to no longer have to worry about rising rents, and instead be able to pay an affordable mortgage on a home that they own.

'It cut my total premium in half': WESH 2 highlights Habitat Inspects success story

WESH 2's Gail Paschall-Brown interviewed Orange County homeowner Eddie Lee, 82, last month about how a free wind mitigation inspection through our program changed the veteran's life. Being on a fixed income, Lee said the savings have made all the difference. "When I'm buying groceries and stuff like that, I don't have to penny-pinch," Lee said.
