Presenting Our Engagement Grant Awardees
We are proud to announce that four proposals have been selected to receive SIREN Engagement Grants! Grantees for this opportunity, which is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, were selected by the Engagement Grant Advisory Committee and representatives of the SIREN team from a pool of 54 applications after months of review and deliberation. Awardees will soon be embarking on two-year projects to strengthen lived experience and community engagement in social care research with diverse populations and settings across the United States. Journal of Clinical and Translational Science: Social Determinants of Health in Clinical and Translational Science
The Journal of Clinical and Translational Science is issuing a Call for Papers for a special themed issue, which will focus on studies that address social determinants of health (SDoH) in clinical and translational science. Manuscripts are due December 31, 2023. Full details can be found here.

Evidence for Action (E4A) is launching a new call for proposals, Indigenous-Led Solutions to Advance Health Equity and Wellbeing, in November 2023. Under this call they are seeking to fund Indigenous-led community-prioritized investigation of solutions with the potential to advance health and well-being, integrating and elevating Indigenous cultures and knowledge-building practices. | Symposium on the Social and Structural Drivers of Health in Medical Education
Join Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine and partners from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the National Collaboration for Education to Address the Social Determinants of Health (NCEAS) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine on December 8th from 8:30am-12pm PT to learn about the forces driving healthcare to better address health-related social needs and implications for medical education.
