On December 6th from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and December 7th from 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M, Wellspring UMC will join with First United Methodist Church of Georgetown to welcome the community to a Nativity Open House. |
This display of Nativities from around the world will provide all with the opportunity to prepare for the coming of Christ during this Advent season. The diversity of cultural depictions tells us that Jesus came for everyone and that people the world over are able to relate very personally to the nativity of God’s Son.
Wellspring invited FUMC to coordinate with us in providing this open house. They have graciously opened the McKinney Christian Ministry Center for the display. Please step up and volunteer to assist. We need volunteers to assist with planning and preparation, including publicity, the loan of displays, and hosts to provide a welcoming presence during the event.
This Open House will provide a wonderful way to share that all are welcome and we rejoice together the gift of God’s Son.
Please contact Janice Wallace, 512) 799-6654 or jwnoel19@yahoo.com
for more information on how you can participate.

Aging and…
Preparing for Loss,
Recognizing Grief,
and
Coping with the New Life Changes it Brings
|
Whoever said that growing older isn’t for wimps really knew what they were talking about! Sometimes it seems like our lives are constantly changing - from joints that give out with new limitation or new diagnoses, to the loss of old friends, to downsizing from a beloved home, and the greatest loss, the death of our loved ones. It seems like grief becomes our constant companion. Pastor Jeff will lead us to understanding loss and
grief as we age and healthy ways to cope with this time in our lives. Join us for this last Pathways to Peace of Mind workshop.

Courts and Ports Report
Sunday, Nov. 10, Open Circle Sunday School Class
Recently, 6 of our members and Pastor Jeff traveled to the border to gain firsthand knowledge of what is happening to migrants attempting to enter into the United States. They took part in the “Courts and Ports”, a 2-day immersion experience designed by Texas Impact to build understanding of the many challenges facing migrants and public servants at the Texas-Mexico border. The Open Circle Sunday School Class invites you to join us for a one session report from some of our church members who went on this trip. Join us during the Sunday School hour on Nov. 10 in the office area of the church to hear about what they learned and the impressions they were left with. Immigration is a very complicated and heartbreaking issue. As followers of Jesus, we need to continually educate ourselves about how we might respond in a compassionate and responsible way to this important issue.
