Campus Wide Business Managers Meeting

The Campus Wide Business Managers meeting previously scheduled for Tuesday, November 26 has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 5 from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. in GEB A104.

Surplus S1 Processing Cutoff
|
Due to the transition from the Archibus maintenance system to DASH Maintenance, Surplus has stopped accepting S1 forms effective immediately. S1 forms already submitted will be processed and relocation requests will be submitted to the Health Science Center Logistics team. Once Surplus has submitted the relocation request to Logistics, the departments must work with the logistics team to schedule the move. Surplus will resume receiving S1 forms after DASH goes live. If a critical situation arises and equipment must be declared surplus and moved during this time, contact Surplus at surplus1@uthsc.edu.
Departments can continue to submit surplus computer equipment using the Surplus Computing Equipment process, Service - Surplus Computing Equipment. If you have any questions, contact Surplus at surplus1@uthsc.edu.

Join us on December 2nd or December 4th for a systemwide training on the new Conflict of Interest (COI) certification process going live January 6, 2025. Formerly known as Outside Interests Disclosure, the new COI process will be hosted in DASH Research but will continue to be a requirement for all UT employees. Annual disclosure will occur in September 2025, but we encourage all employees, especially those planning to participate in research, to attend. Click here for more information!

Final Effort Certification for IRIS
|
As IRIS is winding down, here is our guidance for the last Effort Certification for the period ending December 2024:
- Effort Through November 2024 – Certify all monthly effort through November by December 13, 2024. If there are payroll changes due to effort certification, this will be your last opportunity to have those included with the December 2024 payroll.

December 2024 Effort – IRIS will be available through January 31, 2025 for certifying all effort through December 2024; however, after the December payroll posts, no further payroll changes will be made in IRIS.

If you anticipate December effort to be different than the current pay funding distribution, please proceed to estimate those changes and submit/approve by the December payroll cutoff (December 13, 2024).
- Once effort has been certified for December, we will review any differences between the effort certified and the payroll processed. Payroll changes can be made in DASH to correct; however, it will be a manual process and will require additional support documentation.

Windows 10 will officially reach end of life (EOL) on October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 will no longer be supported by Microsoft, and UT Health Science Center devices running Windows 10 will no longer be allowed on the campus network.
Since Windows 10 EOL is now less than one year away, ITS recommends that you start planning to replace any Windows 10 devices in your areas NOW. We are ready to assist by providing a computer inventory report from our asset management system to help identify devices that are incompatible with Windows 11. We can also assist with building out device recommendations and cost estimates for needed replacements.
